Bathrooms have come a long way in recent years, with the quality and variety of fixtures and fittings available having improved enormously. We recently helped a homeowner in Merchants Landing, Bristol bring a tired old bathroom right into the 21st century, converting it into a stylish, contemporary shower room.
Work begins!
Our engineer Hamish Johnstone began the project by stripping the room out completely, including removing an old 1980s bath, WC and basin, as well as the flooring and tiles. Following our advice, the homeowner opted for low voltage down lighters to fit in with the clean, modern look he was after. As the existing ceiling was made of concrete, we had to lower the ceiling level by 100mm to make room for the down lighters, allowing them to sit flush with the ceiling.
The team gets to work
We supplied and fitted an entirely new contemporary bathroom suite provided by Eastbrook, including a double-size shower with an elegant curved glass shower screen, chrome shower fitment with over-sized rainfall shower head and a beautiful wall mounted basin unit. We also replaced the radiator with a modern towel rail style model as well as replacing all of the other radiators in the apartment with the latest, efficient designs. We finished by installing a new extractor fan and fully tiling the bathroom walls and floors creating a stylish finish.
The results
The whole job took around three weeks to complete and the customer was extremely happy with the results, which, as always, is our top priority here at DHS.
