Recently we carried out some work out for a homeowner in Thingwall Park, Fishponds installing an under stairs toilet. It was an interesting job taking advantage of an innovative piece of bathroom technology designed to make the most of compact toilet and bathroom spaces as well as being environmentally friendly.
Originally the area under the stairs was an open space, meaning we had to create an enclosed area before the plumbing work could begin. We used a local builder to put up studwork and fit a door, providing some essential privacy.
Our plumber Christopher Dyer then got to work, taking advantage of a cellar area under the house to run the plumbing, drainage and ventilation through. He then fitted the new bathroom equipment selected by the client based on our recommendations.
The toilet we used is a really clever piece of kit. Supplied by us, it is a combined basin and toilet which not only saves space and looks stylish, it is also good for the environment. The waste water from the basin is stored in the cistern underneath, meaning it can then be used for flushing the toilet, saving a significant amount of water that would otherwise be wasted.
The whole installation took about two weeks from start to finish, resulting in an attractive and functional space. We were really pleased with the results, as was the homeowner, leaving us with another first rate installation and another happy customer.
