Frequently Asked Questions.
How long does a bathroom fitting project usually take, and what disruption can I expect?
The timescale depends on the size of the job and how much work is involved, so we can’t give an estimate without knowing the details of the project. That said we’ll always tell you what to expect before we start so that you can plan your life accordingly. There will be some disruption while the old bathroom is removed and the new one is fitted, but we’ll keep things organised, efficient, and as tidy as possible throughout.
Can DHS help plan the layout and design of my new bathroom?
Our in-house design team can help you plan a bathroom that suits both your space and the way you use it. Whether you’re making the most of a smaller room or creating something more luxurious, we can offer professional advice to help you get the best result. If you already have something in mind, we can work together to create a solution that is both aesthetic and functional.
Do DHS handle all the plumbing work as part of a bathroom installation?
We can take care of the plumbing (and heating) side of your bathroom installation to make sure everything works exactly as it should. Where other trades are needed, such as tiling or flooring, we have trusted trade contacts who can help provide the finishing touches.
What should I consider before choosing a new shower or radiator?
Think about how you use the space now, how much hot water you need, the pressure available in your system, and the style you want to achieve. For example, mains-fed and electric showers each have different benefits, so the right choice will depend on your home and your priorities. We can talk you through the options and help you choose what works best.
Can DHS replace an old bathroom suite without a full refurbishment?
If your current bathroom layout still works well, but the suite is looking tired, replacing the main fittings can be a good way to refresh the room without starting from scratch. We can give you tailored advice based on your space, budget, and goals.
Showers
Whether you need a replacement shower or a whole new shower cubicle installed, DHS have a wide range of mainsfed and electric options for you to choose from. We offer a quick and efficient service in Bristol and the surrounding area and will be happy to visit you to provide a quote or give a rough estimate over the phone.
Our first class design and installation service is often significantly better value than those of well-known household names permanent solution so your plumbing nightmare doesn’t drag on and on.
Mains-fed showers
These are usually more powerful than electric versions as they take their hot water directly from your home central heating system. This results in higher water pressure as you do not have to wait for it to be heated separately before you can use it. If you are looking for a really powerful shower we can also add a pump to your system to boost the water pressure further.
Electric showers
These are generally more economical to run than mainsfed options as they only heat up water as you need it. This means you are not wasting money on heating water that you never use. We offer electric showers in a variety of power ratings with a higher rating indicating a more powerful shower.
